The Cure release the 1986 mix of Boys Dont Cry, making it available for its 40th Anniversary and to celebrateone billion streams on Spotify! The song has become one of the bands signature tracks and finally achieved international success in 1986 when Robert Smith re-recorded the vocal and remixed the backing track. Despite its creation for the Staring At The Sea/Standing On A Beach singles compilation released that year, the 1986 version was not included on the album which instead used the original 1979 recording. As a result, the later mix has remained largely unavailable. This 12″ single brings together the remixed track alongside the period B-sides and an extended 12″ mix.
