In 1992, Victoria Williams, a gifted singer-songwriter, faced a daunting challenge: she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis just as her music career was taking off, and she had no healthcare coverage to help with medical expenses. In response, a devoted group of supporters and fellow musicians, including Pearl Jam, Soul Asylum, Lou Reed, The Jayhawks, and Giant Sand, came together to record a selection of her beloved songs for Sweet Relief.
