SPELLLING, the vibrant Bay Area experimental pop artist Chrystia Cabral, returns with SPELLLING & the Mystery School! This collection features new versions of songs from her acclaimed discography, releasing on August 25 via Sacred Bones. Recorded with her touring band, these tracks reflect Cabral’s enchanting journey from her 2017 debut “Pantheon Of Me” to 2018’s “Mazy Fly” and her 2021 album “The Turning Wheel”, all showcasing her unique orchestrations. “With this album, I wanted to capture how these songs have evolved,” Cabral says. “They’re like my children, now grown up, and Im thrilled to celebrate that!” In SPELLLING & the Mystery School, Cabral’s voice shines in a new sonic universe with dreamy strings, haunting piano, driving percussion, engaging bass, electrifying guitar, and captivating background vocals. The album reflects the transformative SPELLLING live experience, where Cabral connects deeply with her audience. “I want everyone to feel the alchemy happening and recognize the magic of sound,” she shares. “It feels like this came out of thin air!” Cabral is excited for her live performance with Atlas Obscura this summer at Childrens Fairyland, a historical amusement park in Oakland.
