• Fifty years ago this week, Neil Young released his second album as a solo artist, which, perhaps more importantly, was his first album with his acclaimed backing band Crazy Horse.
  EVERYBODY KNOWS THIS IS NOWHERE, co-produced by Young and David Briggs at Wally Heider Recording in Hollywood, was the album that became the musical template for Young’s solo career, if you can call it that for someone with an experimental past. It’s powerful, raw and emotional, filled with songs that have become staples of Young’s catalog and influenced more than a generation of Americana and country rock artists.
