John Carpenters soundtracks for the most recent Halloween trilogy, made alongsidehis frequent collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, marked the legendarydirector and composers return to film scoring after nearly two decades away. 2018sHalloween, 2021s Halloween Kills, and 2022s Halloween Ends were all directed byDavid Gordon Green, who engaged Carpenter early in the pre-production process,ultimately enlisting him as both an executive producer and soundtrack composer forthe trilogy. Originally released in 2019, Halloween Expanded is now seeing a brand-newpackaging, making this a fresh item for fans to add to their collection.

2018s Halloween was a hit beyond the wildest dreams of anyone involved. It opened to the biggest box office gross in Blumhouses history at the time, and the biggest in thehistory of the Halloween franchise. It was inevitable that a pair of sequels, HalloweenKills and Halloween Ends, would soon be greenlit. Green signed on to direct both, buthe didnt want to assume that John, Cody, and Daniel would return to do the scores.

I dont ever take anything for granted, he says. So you hope they had a good
experience. I know we had fun on the project, but you never know peoples time and financial interests and all these things. The realities of dealmaking, moviemaking, dont always slide in so smoothly. But there wasnt a hiccup. We looked at each other and said, How do we make this work? Lets do it again. Twice.

The expanded version of Halloween includes more than 28 additional minutes of musicfrom the film and presents a more complete, immersive listening experience. Theadditional material included on the expanded edition adds a total of 24 cues to thealbum, spread across two more sides of vinyl on the deluxe double LP version. This newexpanded edition comes packaged with all-new artwork by Chris Bilheimer and anexclusive 24×36 poster designed by Creepy Duck. Expanded versions of the HalloweenKills and Halloween Ends scores, as well as a box set collecting all three expanded editions, will also be available from Sacred Bones on the same release date.
