Discovered early in the New York 70s disco era Gloria Gaynor became one of the most popular icons of the disco scene. Her importance to the scene goes deeper than just a couple of great tracks, she was one of the first artists to have extra long (extended) remixes done of her tracks to satisfy the bumping dancefloors. The 1979 “I Will Survive” became an instant classic and was embraced by women across the country. Earlier hits included “Never Can Say Goodbye” in 1974 and “Reach Out I’ll Be There” in 1975, both featured on this collection.
