Produced by Darren Tate and mixed by Boo Mitchell (Willie Mitchell’s son) and Clay Jones, Al Green’s Give Me More Love: The Orchestral Greatest Hits was mixed at Royal Studios in Memphis – where it all began. For this recording, the innovative and award-winning FAMEs Macedonian Symphony Orchestra went into a studio to record orchestral arrangements to some of Al Greens most cherished hits while retaining the 70s soulful essence and feel of the original recordings. Included are new orchestral mixes of such beloved classics as 1971s Tired of Being Alone, which hit Top 20 on the Hot 100 chart and Top 10 on the Hot R&B Songs chart; the 1972 hit song Lets Stay Together, which went to No. 1 on both the Hot 100 and Hot R&B Songs chart; 1972s Im Still In Love With You, originally peaking at No.4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top R&B chart; and Sha-La-La (Make Me Happy), released in 1974 and reaching No. 7 on the Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Hot R&B Songs charts. Other tracks featured are orchestral versions of 1973s Call Me (Come Back Home), which went to No. 10 on the Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Hot R&B Songs charts, and Al Greens 1974 anthem Take Me To The River, which ranks No 117 on Rolling Stone magazines Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
