Getting Killed is the latest album from Brooklyn-based band Geese, released 26 September 2025. It marks a turning point: recorded over just ten days with producer Kenneth Blume (aka Kenny Beats), the band leans further into experimentation, dissonance and genre-blurring songwriting. The collisions of rock, soul, avant textures and looser forms give the record a volatile, jagged energy.
Lyrically and sonically, the album embraces ambiguity, combining moments of raw intensity (Trinidad opens with a scream) with more restrained passages that breathe. Theres a sense of risk here ideas left half-formed, transitions that jar but that scruffy boldness is part of its charm. Geeses confidence extends beyond flair: their command of texture, dynamic shifts and vocal character make this their most striking statement yet.
Reviews
Theres a lot going on across Geeses third album, Getting Killed, yet it never feels like theyre losing control of the chaos. NME
an album of and for our times. Reportedly recorded in just 10 days, it thrives on sharp edges, sudden turns, and a kind of half-broken beauty. Slant Magazine
a deeply exciting, provoking, and necessary gulf of no-fuss rock music. Paste Magazine
