Electric Wizard is a doom metal/stoner rock band from Dorset, South West England, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1988 under the name Morbicus. In 1989, the band changed its name to Putrefaction and then to Lord of Putrefaction. In 1991, the band changed its name to Thy Grief Eternal, in 1992, to Eternal and finally, in 1993, to Electric Wizard.
