The new album “We All Want The Same Things” by Craig Finn is a collection of songs about love and partnership in modern times. Finn reflects on the search for love as an antidote for loneliness and how modern relationships often involve aligning self interests to combat the world around us. The songs on the album were recorded over a year with producer Josh Kaufman and a group of collaborators, and are considered to be Finn’s most melodic work to date. The album was named after a line in the song “God in Chicago,” and the characters in the songs are normal people trying to navigate their relationships while they help themselves and try to move forward.
