In the midst of his UFO research, blink-182 co-founder Tom DeLonge has found the time to return to making music with LIFEFORMS, the first Angels & Airwaves album in seven years (and first for Rise Records). Tom made this one with guitarist David Kennedy (also of Toms much-loved early 2000s side project Box Car Racer), drummer Ilan Rubin (also of Nine Inch Nails), and bassist Matt Rubano (ex-Taking Back Sunday), and at least one of the songs (lead single Euphoria) marks a return to Box Car Racers post-hardcore influences. In a music world that seems to be absent guitars, angst, and emotional authenticity, I felt it was important to lead with a song that mirrors the post-hardcore days of my youth, where the power of the music creates that feeling we once had as teenagers, Tom said when Euphoria was released. – Andrew Sacher
