SUFFOCATION Effigy Of The Forgotten (1991 Dutch 9-Track Vinyl LP, debut album from New York death metal titans Suffocation. Effigy Of The Forgotten is widely revered as a cornerstone of technical brutal death metal, unleashing punishing blastbeats, down-tuned riff barrages and guttural vocal ferocity that helped define and arguably invent the slam-infused extremity that followed. A relentless assault from start to finish, this debut remains one of the most influential extrememetal recordings of the early 90s underground. Housed in a glossy picture sleeve complete with printed lyric inner. The sleeve shows some minor edgewear and light creasing consistent with age. The inner has mild creasing but no splits or tears. The vinyl displays visible hairlines and surface scuffs, none of which affect playback. Overall graded Very Good, this is a solid, honest example of a true death metal classic POSH332)
