An American soul singer with dynamic range and a powerful falsetto, Donnie Elbert had a prolific career from the mid-1950’s to the late 1970’s. Elbert relocated to the UK in 1966 and upon his return to the US in 1969, had his first US chart hit in over a decade with the single “Can’t Get Over Losing You” b/w “I Got To Get Myself Together,” released in early 1970 on Swamp Dogg’s Rare Bullet label.
