Lord Huron, the exciting project by Los Angeles-based songwriter, musician, and visual artist Ben Schneider, is set to release their 2025 album, The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1, through Mercury Records. Along with the album, they are also releasing the single “Looking Back.” Recognized for crafting “atmospheric music of exquisite craft” (Wall Street Journal), the band started giving fans a sneak peek of the album in early 2025 with singles like “Who Laughs Last” and “Nothing I Need.” Schneider wrote and coproduced their fifth album, which features band members Tom Renaud, Mark Barry, and Miguel Briseo, as well as collaborations with talented artists like actress Kristen Stewart and Kazu Makino from Blonde Redhead.

The album title references the mysterious machine featured on the cover art. Schneider asks: “What if you could choose your fate like choosing a song on a jukebox? What if your finger slipped and you got the B-side instead? What if you misunderstood the meaning of the dang song to begin with?”
