The quartet was joined by two other American expatriates, Bud Powell (piano) and Kenny Clarke (drums), and French bassist Pierre Michelot.One of the most successful of Blue Note Records’ ‘blue’ period and an album that remains Dexter Gordon’s finest work
  In keeping with the label’s 75th anniversary and the worldwide LP revival, Blue Note boss Don Was has made an LP reissue campaign a top priority: No less than 100 Blue Note album classics will be released in monthly batches of 5 from now on, lavishly remastered from the original tapes in classic analogue sound, pressed in 180gr and made attractive to very modern people with download codes. The first edition will feature classics by Art Blakey, Eric Dolphy, John Coltrane, Larry Young and Wayne Shorter. And every month 5 more gems will follow up to and including February next year.
