• 2001 is the second studio album of Dr. Dre. It was released on November 16, 1999 by Interscope Records as the successor to their 1992 debut album The Chronic. The record was mainly produced by Dr. Dre and Mel-Man as well as Lord Finesse and contains several guest contributions from colleagues like The D. O.C., Hittman, Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Xzibit, Eminem and Nate Dogg. 2001 shows an extension of Dre’s debut G-funk sound and contains gangsta rap themes like violence, promiscuity, drug use, street gangs, sex and crime
  The album debuted at number 2 in the U.S. Billboard 200 charts and sold 550,000 copies in the first week. It produced 3 singles that achieved chart success and were certified by the RIAA as 6 platinum; since August 2015 the album has sold 7.8 million copies in the USA
  2001 (Explicit also as instrumental) is released as vinyl in 2LP 180 grams, also as cassette.
